Margarita Damian, 73, of Hilo, died Oct. 14 at home. Born in Chuuk, in the Federated States of Micronesia, she was a homemaker and a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass to be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Casual attire. All-night vigil from noon onward Nov. 10 at 16-1998 Silversword Court, Ainaloa. Ruth Sachiko Dick, 87, of Waimea, died Aug. 4 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Kapa‘a, she was a retired counselor and school teacher at Honokaa High and Intermediate School. Friends may call to visitation from 9 – 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Kamuela, with memorial Mass to follow at 10 a.m. Survived by son Daniel Dick of Honolulu; daughters Mariko (Ryan) Foster of Honolulu and Michiko (Allyn) Spencer of Kamuela; and grandchildren Trinity, Abigail, Danielle, Anela, Samuel, Mason and Chole. Robert Yoshito Kimura, 88, of Hilo, died Oct. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Naalehu, he was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and worked for Raytheon. George Robert Mac Neal, 82, of Hilo, died Sept. 14 at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Wahiawa, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a former salesman for Solar Hot Water Heater and Solar Photovoltaic Sales in Hilo. Celebration of life to be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at Joann’s Lounge in Hilo. Survived by wife Janet Kealoha-Kong-Silva Mac Neal of Hilo; step-daughters Prudence Kong (Sonny) Rosaldo of Hilo and Collette Kong (Charles) Thomas of Kula; one daughter; two sons; one brother; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gary Masaji Okuna, Sr., 66, of Hilo, died Sept. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Ka‘u, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired Hilo Post Office clerk. John George Veriato, 75, of Keaau, died Oct. 16 at home. Born in Ewa Beach, he was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam veteran, a retired electrical maintenance technician for the U.S. Army and retired from the Hawaii Air National Guard. Private services held.
